Who should take this course?

This course designed, as part of a series of courses, for maintenance and technical personnel at all levels, introducing the fundamental control principles applied to Electro-Hydraulic Systems and a better understanding of component function and operation. Throughout the course, a practical hands-on approach will be applied. Your extended knowledge and skills will enable you to better manage and maintain your systems, working safer and more effectively. This course will also improve communication levels as terminology is better understood.

Skills Based

During the practical section of this course candidates will engage in and apply the following skills:

  • Reading, interpreting and utilising technical information relating to integrated systems when planning, building and testing
  • Locate, identify and explain the function of electrical devices in an Electro-Hydraulic Control System
  • Build and operate Electro-Hydraulic control system circuits
  • Carry out system monitoring and effective fault diagnosis of Electro-Hydraulic control systems
  • Safely use a multi-meter and other diagnostic tools to assist in fault finding

Knowledge Based

On completion of this course candidates will be able to:

  • Describe fundamental electrical principles and their importance to modern Electro-Hydraulic control systems
  • Describe the function and application of common electrical components
  • Explain various methods of providing electrical power supply
  • Identify cable types, termination methods used and their applications
  • Identify component symbols and interpret manufacturers technical documentation to safely handle, install, commission and fault find of these devices in a systems environment
  • Describe the methods used for safe fault-finding on an “Integrated System”

No, lunch isn’t provided however we will be providing light refreshments on the day. There are a number of supermarkets nearby along with fast food outlets for lunch.
