Course Details

• 2 day course
• 9am – 4pm or as arranged by your tutor
• Candidates will receive a comprehensive set of course notes, light refreshments and certificate of attendance
• The course has high practical content
• Candidates will receive a comprehensive set of course notes, light refreshments, and BFPA/CETOP Certificate
• As a follow on from the NFPC Stage 1 Electro-Hydraulics, this course involves a written examination and a ‘one-to-one’ practical task assessment measured against the performance criteria outlined in the CETOP Education Recommendation FPE1

Who should take this course?

Level 1 (First Line) – Advanced Apprentice/Technicians involved in the maintenance of systems employing Fluid Power and Applied Electronics. This person would perform activities and follow established procedures normally short and of a reoccurring nature. Problem solving would be through the help of a second- or third-line Technician/Engineer or following a pre-determined set of actions or maintenance checklist.

Course Objectives

To gain this qualification you must:

  • Successfully complete a 2 hour written examination to prove your knowledge and understanding of hydraulics covered in Stage 1 (60% pass mark)
  • Be assessed on a “one to one” basis carrying out a range of practical tasks involving the following assessed abilities

Practical task assessments will involve:

• FPE 1.1.0 – Interpreting Integrated System diagrams and associated symbols, select components, and assemble a working circuit, safely and effectively following recommended procedures
• FPE 1.2.0 – Identified and utilised correct test equipment on Integrated Fluid Power Systems to establish the normal operational, safely carried our a range of tests and completed a written report relating to all results
• FPE 1.3.0 – Applied basic fault‐finding techniques on a system relating to an integrated fluid power system, identified operating sequence, applied correct test equipment and safely and effectively carried out fault finding procedures and completed a written report
• FPE 1.40 – Carried out relevant maintenance on system components, selected suitable replacement components, used the correct tools and followed safe working procedures. System tested after maintenance to ensure efficient working operation. Written report completed

No, lunch isn’t provided however we will be providing light refreshments on the day. There are a number of supermarkets nearby along with fast food outlets for lunch.
