Who should take this course?
This is an ideal follow on from Course 1 (Contamination Management) and is specifically aimed at those who are responsible for assessing system component and cleanliness levels. Designed for Maintenance/Service Staff at all levels, Managers, Inspectors, Advanced Apprentices and Technical Representatives.
Course Objectives
Skills Based
During the practical section of this course candidates will engage in and apply the following skills:
- Taking an oil sample from a live system
- Preparing a patch membrane of an oil sample
- Carrying out particle counting and assessment
- The Use of automatic particle counters (APCs)
Knowledge Based
On completion of this course candidates will know:
- The origin and the nature of contaminants (refresher)
- The procedures required to carry out sampling, membrane and glassware preparation
- How to effectively carryout a microscopic inspection
- How to interpret results to new standards
- The current procedures for assessing component cleanliness

No, lunch isn’t provided however we will be providing light refreshments on the day. There are a number of supermarkets nearby along with fast food outlets for lunch.
