The NFPC are excited to share the success of our 12th annual Industry Open Day which took place on 23rd October 2024, here at the National Fluid Power Centre in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
The NFPC has tremendously expanded on its connections and student’s career opportunities from this event, as we do every year, with an impressive turnout of over 300 national and international companies and students attending the event this year – the largest attendance recorded to date. Both national and international companies in Hydraulics, Electro-Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Control and Automation supported the open day event, including some of our approved partners.

So what actually happened on the day? There were a number of students from both colleges and universities as well as like-minded industries, that had the option to attend a number of technical lectures, exclusively presented by the NFPC’s approved partners who could offer expert advice on the industry. This gave the students a greater insight into the latest technologies, inspiring them to expand on their industry knowledge. The technical lectures which took place on the day were:
- Webtec Products – Optimising and Maintaining Hydraulic Efficiency on Mobile Machinery See the full lecture here
- Wandfluh – Amplifiers and Controllers for Proportional Valves See the full lecture here
- Turck Banner – IIOT Data Collection See the full lecture here
We already can’t wait for next year’s open day event in October 2025 to broaden the NFPC’s network even further. With this year’s visitors overjoyed by their experience on the day, over 20 companies have already registered their attendance for next year’s event.
John Savage, Managing Director of the NFPC said about the event:
“What a fantastic event our Industry Open Day was this year, with 55 companies exhibiting representing Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Control and Automation. On behalf of the NFPC, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who exhibited and attended for their continued support whilst ensuring the NFPC remains the UK’s flag ship centre for the learning and development of the UK workforce. We look forward to the next event in 2025.”
We look forward to seeing you all again in 2025!
