Stage 2 Electro-pneumatics

Duration:

3 days.

Who is it for:

Plant Managers, Engineers, Technicians and Craftsmen, also Technical Representatives who require knowledge of power pneumatics and their control systems.

Entry Requirements:

Stage 1 Power Pneumatics or equivalent.

Course Aims:

On completion of this course candidates will:

  • Have an insight into the operation, application and maintenance of power pneumatic systems and their controls
  • Have a thorough understanding of basic pneumatic principles
  • Develop diagnostic skills and a logical approach to fault finding
  • Have increased confidence and competence through hands-on experience

Course Outline:

  • Properties of compressed air
  • Dangers associated with compressed air systems
  • Planning a compressed air installation
  • Types of compressors
  • Receivers and dryers
  • Treatment of compressed air at the point of use
  • Pneumatic symbols, reading and interpreting schematic diagrams
  • Electrical control of pneumatic circuits
  • Logic circuit building exercises involving electro-pneumatic switching devices
  • Relay logic and PLC control

Leading to:

Certificate of attendance.

This course provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to gain a BFPA qualification.
