Staff involved in the maintenance or design of industrial and mobile hydraulic systems who require a knowledge and understanding of pump control systems.
Entry Requirements:
Candidates should have attended our Stage 1 Hydraulics training course and have a good understanding of modern hydraulic systems.
Course Aims:
To provide candidates with an appreciation of energy efficient control systems to meet a specification, enabling a more authoritative approach to be made when selecting pumps and associated control systems. To provide a better understanding to those involved in the commissioning and maintenance of such systems.
Course Outline:
Types of pumps and associated operating characteristics
Fixed displacement pumps and selected methods of control
Variable displacement pump controls, including:-
Servo control
Pressure compensation with and without remote control
Load sensing
Constant power/torque
Combinations
Review of manufacturers' recommendations
Health and performance monitoring
Practical 'hands-on' (Setting up procedures)
Open and closed loop applications
Leading to:
Certificate of attendance.
This course provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to gain a BFPA qualification.
Notes:
Practical demonstrations and "hands-on" experience, enabling candidates to build circuits and observe performance related to specific control systems will support the course.
